Debbie Murray DeFoe

Debbie has been in the surety business since 1984 after graduating from the University of Florida with a BSBA in Insurance and a minor in accounting. Debbie started her career with USF&G insurance in 1989 and became the Vice President of the Surety Department where she was instrumental in growing their surety business from a Florida based $200K business to a multi-state $4M profitable book.

In 2000, Debbie was recruited by Westfield Insurance Company to expand their presence throughout Florida and Texas and in 2005 Debbie became a partner in JBI Group. Debbie joined the Guignard Company in 2015 and currently serves as Vice President for the Tampa Bay Market.

Throughout her career Debbie served in multiple officer roles for the National Association of Independent Sureties including Secretary, VP and in 2009 was given the honor of being the first female President for the organization.

Debbie enjoys running, biking and golfing and works out regularly at Orange Theory fitness. For the last several years, Debbie has participated in the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation Cycling Fundraiser in honor a friend that has been affected by the disease. Debbie is also very passionate about Florida Gator football. She has served in various alumni leadership roles including Dallas Gator Club President, Pinellas County Gator Club President, Florida Alumni Association Board of Directors and in 1995 was awarded the Alumni Association Regional Vice President of the Year. Debbie is a proud Bull Gator and was recently Debbie was featured in the Bull Gator yearly publication in 2014 where they feature 2 Bull Gators every year.
